Transformer substation (referred to as box type substation) is a compact complete set of distribution equipment that combines high-voltage switchgear distribution transformers, low-voltage switchgear, energy metering equipment, and reactive power compensation devices in one or several boxes according to a certain wiring scheme.
Due to their different structures and uses, box type substations are further divided into YB Prefabricated Substation, ZGS Combination Substation, and landscape type buried box substations. They are commonly used in municipal road light box substations, factory distribution box substations, temporary power box substations and charging stations on construction sites, and new energy box substations in photovoltaic wind power plants.
Transformer substations (commonly referred to as "box substations") concentrate traditional transformers in a box type housing, which has the advantages of small size, light weight, low noise, low loss, and high reliability. They are widely used in residential areas, commercial centers, light stations, airports, factories, mines, enterprises, hospitals, schools, and other places.
Firstly, because the internal structure arrangement of the transformer substation is relatively reasonable, it occupies less space. Compared to traditional transformers, box type transformers install high-voltage distribution equipment into a sealed steel structure box through scientific and reasonable means. Its internal structure is very compact, and the gaps between various components are also quite small. Therefore, the space occupied by box type transformers is relatively small.
Secondly, the operation method of the box type transformer is very simple and convenient, making it easy to assemble quickly. By specialized designers who understand the construction requirements of power engineering, simple and convenient separate main wiring and supporting outdoor equipment are made according to different requirements for quick assembly.
Thirdly, the safety and stability of the operation of box type transformers are relatively high. Because the shell of the box type transformer is made of metal conductors with strong anti-corrosion ability, and the interfaces between the internal equipment are also made of insulating materials. The box is equipped with air conditioning and dehumidification equipment, which greatly improves the resistance of the box type transformer to the external environment and enhances its safety and reliability during operation.
